Team Ireland’s website had to carry the country’s Olympic story through Paris 2024 — the busiest fortnight in the Irish sporting calendar.
The challenge
An Olympic Games concentrates a year’s worth of attention into sixteen days. Supporters arriving at olympics.ie need schedules, athletes and results quickly, on whatever device is to hand, at the exact moment the site is under the most pressure it will face all cycle.
The deadline could not move. Whatever was built had to be live and steady before the opening ceremony.
What we did
We rebuilt olympics.ie ahead of the Games: a new information architecture and navigation, a new visual design, interactive features and richer content, built to help a supporter find what they came for in seconds rather than minutes.
Ahead of the main rebuild we delivered the Road to Paris section in February 2024, following qualification as it happened so the story was already being told before the Games began.
The result
The rebuilt site went live ahead of Paris 2024 and carried Team Ireland’s coverage through the Games, including the schedules and athlete profiles supporters used to follow Irish competitors day by day.
