Who we are
Big Top Multimedia Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are registered in Ireland (company number 634572) at 26 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D02 P211. You can reach us at [email protected] or +353 1 621 7475.
What we collect and why
When you contact us or ask for a quote
Our contact form asks for your name, address, email address, phone number, how and when you would like us to contact you, and your message. Our quote form asks for your name, email address, address, the services you are interested in and a description of what you need. With each submission our website also records your IP address and browser details, and a Cloudflare Turnstile check confirms the form is being filled in by a person rather than a bot.
We use this information to reply to you and to prepare any quote you ask for. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries. The same applies if you email or phone us directly.
We do not add enquirers to a mailing list or a CRM system, and we do not use enquiry details for marketing.
Website statistics
If you accept statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: the pages you view, roughly where you are, the device and browser you use, and how you arrived. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the “Manage consent” tab on every page. If you decline, Google Analytics sets no cookies and receives only basic signals without identifiers, such as that a page was viewed and that consent was declined.
Videos, maps and podcasts
Some pages embed videos from YouTube and Vimeo, and our contact pages embed a Google Map. These load only after you accept marketing cookies; until then you see a placeholder. Two posts include a Buzzsprout podcast player, which loads from Buzzsprout’s servers. Once loaded, each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy.
Running and protecting the website
Our website is hosted by WP Engine and delivered through Cloudflare, which also protects it against attacks and spam. Like any web server, they process your IP address and request details in order to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf: WP Engine (website hosting), Cloudflare (content delivery, security and the Turnstile spam check), and Google (Google Workspace, which runs our email, and Google Analytics, only with your consent). We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers are based in the United States or may process data there. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are stored on our website for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Each submission is also emailed to us, and we keep that email in our Google Workspace account for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows from it.
Google Analytics keeps event-level data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months. After that, only aggregated reports remain, which do not identify you.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what we did before. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (www.dataprotection.ie).
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if how we handle personal data changes, and change the date at the top when we do.
